An Extraordinary Gazette has been issued declaring Postal services as an essential service considering the current COVID-19 situation in the country.

According to the Gazette notification, the postal service has been identified as essential services for the conduct of ordinary public life, considering the possibility of any hindrances or disruptions in the provision of such services, as well as the facts mentioned in the guidelines issued by the Director General of Health Services on COVID-19 prevention.
