Indian PM Narendra Modi arrives in Sri Lanka

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Sri Lanka early this morning and was welcomed by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.
This marks the first time since 1987 that an Indian Prime Minister has made a bi-lateral state visit to Sri Lanka.
The Indian Prime Minister and President Maithripala Sirisena are scheduled to hold bilateral talks at the President’s House following which he is also scheduled to meet Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.
Prime Minister Modi will visit the Mahabodhi Agrashawaka Maha Viharaya in Maradana at noon and will address Parliament later in the day.
