Karu vacates office in Parliament

UNP MP Karu Jayasuriya who lost his deputy leader post of in the party at Monday’s secret ballot has decided to vacate his office room in the parliamentary complex today, sources close to him said today.

Mr. Jayasuriya was given this room to be used in his administrative work.  However, after he lost his post of deputy leader on Monday, he has decided to leave it. His staff attached to the office packed his belongings so he could vacate the office room.

Also, with the defeat at the secret ballot, Mr. Jayasuriya ceases to be a member of the working committee of the party.  He represented the working committee by virtue of office as an office bearer.
