The Vice Chairman of the UNP-controlled Lahugala Pradeshiya Sabha Thushan Jayasuriya and UNP members G. Dayaratna and G. Wimalasena have decided to join the UPFA and support President Mahinda Rajapaksa at the upcoming polls.
The three UNP Pradeshiya Sabha members met with the President, who visited the Ampara area for campaign activities this morning, and pledged their complete support for his victory in January’s election.
The PS members’ crossover brings down the number of UNP members in the Lahugala Pradeshiya Sabha from 7 to 4 and increases the number of UPFA members to 7.
