‘Maha Shiva Rathri’ helps enhance spiritual discipline & continue materiel life in a righteous manner – President
President Maithripala Sirisena says the ‘Maha Shiva Rathri’ which is celebrated by the Hindus world over enhances the spiritual discipline and continues the materiel life in a righteous manner with the divine blessing.
Issuing a message on Maha Shiva Rathri, he added that the rituals performed by Hindu devotees on this day symbolize their wish for coexistence with each other.
“Such rituals which have been practiced since ancient times always stood for peaceful and non-violent existence of the humans”, he stated.

The rituals performed by the humans for divinity demonstrate their infinite devotion and desire for well-being of the entire universe and fellow human beings.
The ‘Maha Shiva Rathri’ is celebrated by the Hindu devotees world over with the objective of enhancing the spiritual discipline and to continue the materiel life in a righteous manner with the divine blessing.
On this blessed day the Hindu devotees wish and expect the tranquility and contentment. Their thoughts and expectations and the rituals performed by them symbolize their wish for coexistence with each other.
Such rituals which have been practiced since ancient times always stood for peaceful and non-violent existence of the humans.
The worships like this which the humans and the God meet in a nodal point should be honored and accepted by all those seek the well-being of the entire human beings as it gives a positive message to the society.
