Pivithuru Hela Urumaya (PHU) General Secretary Udaya Gammanpila said today they hoped to get former President Mahinda Rajapaksa to participate in the election campaign after the General Election was declared.
Responding to a question asked during a news conference at the Abhayaramaya in Narahenpita, Mr. Gammanpila said there was no need to invite Mr. Rajapaksa to take part in daily news conferences.
“However, we hope to bring the former President to our stage no sooner the General Election was announced,” he said.
Meanwhile, Democratic Left Front (DLF) Leader Vasudeva Nanayakkara said Mr. Rajapaksa was aware of their political activities.
