Already more than enough vehicles have been imported! Government institutions are filled with unnecessary positions. Above all there is no money for vehicle import and pay salaries for public sector employees. That is the bitter truth!
Yes, Ranjith,
I agree with you completely.
Big inefficient public sector and huge benefits for higher officers that is not affordably to our economy. Most higher offers are playing a survival game in the position and do any harm to the country for them to move in the ladder. They sigh documents and circulars.
So public sector has to be downscale, but more sadly always same public sector officers are appointed to study and recommend public sector reforms. So nothing changes.
Sri Lanka Administrative Service is a disaster to the country. The public sector officers, NGOs and pressure group and academics talk about this secretly, but everyone is silent in public about that.
Well actually, it is time to start thinning the public sector. Send people being removed on a good small business starting and management training and provide them with rants and further low interest loans for some years.
