Rathgama PS Chairman murder weapon found

Rathgama Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman Manoj Pushpakumara Mendis was shot dead in a hotel in the Wewala area in Hikkaduwa on 23 March midnight, whilst two other individuals were critically injured in the incident.
Hikkaduwa police has arrested another suspect who has been allegedly involved in the murder, in Telwatta area yesterday (29) at around 5.20p.m., Police Media Unit said.
The suspect is a 21-year-old resident of Telwatta area.
Following the information revealed after questioning the suspect, Police found a 9mm micro gun that has been used to commit the murder.
The suspect will be produced before Galle Magistrate Court today (30).
Five suspects have been arrested earlier, regarding the crime. They were produced to courts and remanded.
Hikkaduwa Police is conducting further investigations into the matter.
