Sri Lanka President departs for Japan After UNGA

Sri Lanka President Anura Kumara Dissanayake departed the United States on the night of September 25, 2025, after participating in the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
He left from John F. Kennedy International Airport.
At the invitation of the Japanese Government, the President will undertake an official visit to Japan from September 27 to 30.
He is accompanied by Vijitha Herath, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism.
