Unpaid loans obtained by paddy farmers from State Banks to be waived off

The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a proposal to waive off unpaid loans obtained from state banks by paddy farmers who have less than two hectares.
According to the Cabinet Paper, the decision was reached taking into consideration the various hardships faced by the farming community due to the Easter attacks, the coronavirus pandemic, and the prevalent economic crisis.
