Watcher shot dead by police in Moragahahena; OIC injured

A watcher at the Horana-Moragahahena State farm was shot dead by police fire after the Moragahahena police OIC was shot and injured by the watcher during a raid.
The Moragahahena police were conducting a raid last night (April 11) when the watcher opened fire and injured the OIC who was later rushed to the Colombo National Hospital.
Following a shootout between the watcher and the police, the watcher was killed.
The police are conducting further inquiries into the incident.
