Welikada shooting: victim succumbs to injuries

Kamburupitiye Harsha, the underworld gangster who was critically injured when shot at by two gunmen who arrived on a motorcycle, succumbed to his injuries at the National Hospital a short while ago, Hospital sources said.

The victim has been identified as a resident of Obesekarapura, Welikada who recently granted bail by a court in Matara, according to police.

A gunman, who was the pillion rider of a motorcycle, had fled the area soon after shooting Yasas at around 10.00 a.m.
The remains of the deceased are kept at the same hospital pending a post-mortem.
