50,000 graduates and 100,000 low-income persons will be in service from September 2
President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa has decided to immediately implement the 150,000 employment program that was halted due to the general election.
50,000 jobs are reserved for unemployed graduates, while the remaining 100,000 are selected from the lowest income families in society.
Within weeks of President Rajapaksa taking office in November last year, a program was planned to employ 50,000 graduates and 100,000 low-income earners.
The process of calling for applications from graduates began in the first week of February and a multi-purpose development task force was set up to employ 100,000 low-income earners.
The objective of the program is to create a poverty-free Sri Lanka in line with the President’s “Vision for Prosperity” policy statement.
Following the announcement of the 2020 Parliamentary Elections, the program was temporarily suspended due to the Chairman of the Election Commission ordering the suspension of the 150,000 jobs program.
The list of employed graduates will be published on the Presidential Secretariat website next Sunday (16).
Sending letters to the selected candidates will commence on Monday (17) and the appointees will have to report to their nearest Divisional Secretariat on September 02.
It is further stated that if the names of the qualified graduates are not included in the list, it is possible to inquire from the Presidential Secretariat.
Employment of the selected low-income persons will be implemented by the established task force from September 02.

from where is he getting the funds
He is getting funds from you, Engr Perera !!
You will pay taxes and buy parippu for Rs 1,000 per kilo !!!
Not from you stupid brain dead, non-tax paying, but sucking-on-national funds senile BULL
By printing money Mr Eng.M.V.R.Perera. Take a Rs 1000.00 note add 3 notes to the end. So Rs 1000 will be Rs 1000000, A million. Do it to all the printed notes. Plus every city is going to have a university. So all Sri Lankans will be millionaires and professors. What more you want. All the election promises full filed. Don’t worry about the inflation. How cool is that.
This is a hand out. Some sort of a unemployment benefit for doing nothing. Not only a income also give them a bogus title like a executive. Or send these graduates to clean toilets and sweep roads in foreign countries.
Before you criticize other, m-f please go learn to write proper English…in case you forgot, this is an English forum. You talk so cockily like you are the ‘upper crust’ of SL but you are nothing but a G-damned, ¼ baked noody who likes to run down our nation’s new generation of boys & girls. Your English is so f’ing poor I would not hire you to be our mail-room-boy in my company!
Recruiting these unskilled graduates will be a white elephant and they are not any duty but withdrawing salaries and demanding promotions. The mother f***g universities in Sri Lanka are generating huge numbers of unskilled arts external graduates creating a series of serious social problems problem to the country. University staff get extra payments for these courses and indirect benefits to have sex with young girls as a bribe to pass the exams, I heard from many sources.
We yourself have determine the size of public sector to have an efficient economy. Even now it is around 1.4 million which can’t be afford. France has a biggest public sector -but very efficient.
You blame others for lack of education – but your f’ing English is atrocious! Go look in the mirror stupid mf!
Not only unskilled art l graduates also cram the book and pass the exam so called science and engineering donkey blocks.
There is no any atrocity there Simon mf. That is how you see things based on what you have learned and experienced in life. Graduate recruitment is neither useful for government nor for appointees-no promotions, no duty lists and have to stay life time in a small job.
You English is urban street English , who are you to recommend me to learn English ?
