Kiriella continues to complain of conspiracy

The Opposition had conspired against the government by calling for a surprise division on Expenditure Heads of two ministries, last week, in violation of an agreement reached at the Party Leaders’ Meeting, Leader of the House and Minister Lakshman Kiriella said, yesterday.

UN torture prevention body to visit Sri Lanka

The United Nations Subcommittee on Prevention of Torture is set to carry out its first visit to Sri Lanka from 2 to 12 April to examine the treatment of people deprived of their liberty and the safeguards in place for their protection against torture and ill-treatment.



Now Ravi promises solution before Vesak

Minister of Power, Energy and Business Development Ravi Karunanayake yesterday promised to provide a permanent solution to the country’s crippling power crisis before the next Vesak Full Moon Poya Day in May.
