Police seize 288 fake Rs 5,000 notes

Police discovered 288 counterfeit Rs 5,000 notes at a house in Dalupotha, Negombo. According to the police, the stock of fake notes which would amount to Rs 1.44 million, three computers and a digital printing machine used to print the notes, were confiscated.
Police said that information on the counterfeit notes racket was revealed by a suspect who was arrested with a fake Rs 5,000 note in the Dalupotha area. Police further said, the two suspects were arrested over the incident and investigations revealed that the suspects were from Wellaweediya and Greens Road, Negombo.
