Sub-inspector accidentally shot, killed by Inspector

A Sub-inspector attached to the Neluwa Police was killed last night when the firearm of an Inspector accidentally fired, police spokesman SP Ajith Rohana said.
The incident had taken place during an operation in search of a suspect in the Lelwala area in Neluwa at around midnight yesterday, he told Ada Derana.
The deceased Sub-inspector is said to be a 51-year-old father of four and a resident of Matara.
