Suitable persons should appointed to local government institutions, says Weerawansa

Suitable persons should be appointed to local government institutions, says Wimal Weerawansa, Minister of Construction, Engineering Services, Housing and Common Amenities.
He made this statement while addressing a public meeting in Arawwala, Pannipitiya yesterday.
“Since the value of the country that was liberated by war heroes is very high, because our love for the country is great and because we’re duty bound by blood to take this country forward, it is both our duty and responsibility to appoint a group of public representatives who believe in this responsibility to these local government institutions. But if you carelessly appoint anyone who comes along, without carefully considering them, there is no point complaining and making accusations when they steal public money,” said Minister Weerawansa.

Why only to Local Government? Hon WW, are all appointments in your portfolio made on the basis of merit?
What about the foreign service? It is critical in fighting the NAWA KOTI ORGANISATIONS which are springing up all over the world?
But key persons in the foreign service or not competent diplomats. Most of them are battle-weary officers from the forces, relatives of Cabinet Ministers and ex-IGP’s who couldn’t control a crowd of 500 peaceful demonstrators.
C’mon Wimal, lead the revolution. You were with the revolutionaries not so long ago.
Well said Frederick,
We have been fighting NGO’s for a long, long time and now we are facing NKO’s (Nawa Koti Organisations).
The NGO’s and the NKO’s appear to be brothers!! Of course, our own Blue Brothers will fight them with their words and deeds; the Blue Brothers are experts in pulling wool over the eyes of the World!!
