Three persons shot over dispute in Mawathagama

Three people were shot in the Mailagasweva area in Mawathagama last night at around 7pm following which the shooter had fled the scene, police stated.
The three victims were rushed to the Anuradhapura hospital for treatment.
The shooting occurred after an argument concerning a well in the area had spiralled out of control, the Galenbindunuweva police stated.
The residents of the area had set fire to the shooter’s van but were spurned by police when attempting to set ablaze to the culprit’s house.
