STF seize ‘Kerala Ganja’ worth over Rs 10 million

Police Special Task Force (STF) personnel have arrested five suspects and confiscated a haul of ‘Kerala Ganja’ worth over Rs 10 million.
Acting on information received by the STF camp in Vavuniya, the officers arrested the suspects along with the narcotics in a wooded area on the Mannar-Vavuniya road and near the old Mannar road railway station on Friday.
Around 80 kilograms of Kerala Ganja in total, two motorcycles, mobile phones and various other equipment found in the possession of the suspects were taken into custody, STF said.
The suspects have been handed over to Mannar Police for further investigations.
