Large scale weapons factory raided in Akuressa

A weapons manufacturing hideout in the Dediyagala area in Akuressa was raided by the Matara Division Anti-vice Squad where they found hundreds of half-built guns similar to T56 assault rifles.
The factory was operated on the guise of a wood workshop. Police arrested one person during the raid. Most of the guns they had manufactured were double barrelled guns.
It was also revealed that they had sold a gun between Rs.50,000 and Rs.100,000.
Police also noted that the suspect (40) who was taken into custody had the ability to manufacture a gun where any bullet could be used for it.
Police have already started to look for individuals who had bought guns from this suspect.
