Shasheendra Rajapaksa remanded further until September 22, 2025

Former State Minister Shasheendra Rajapaksa, who is currently in remand custody, was today (September 19) ordered by the Colombo Magistrate’s Court to be further remanded until next Monday (September 22).
As Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama, who is hearing the case, was on leave today, the proceedings were postponed until next Monday.
Shasheendra Rajapaksa was arrested on August 6, 2025, by officers of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) at his residence in Nugegoda on corruption charges.
