Bandula demands Rs. 1 Billion in damages

A Letter of Demand (LoD) has been sent on behalf of the Minister of Trade, Bandula Gunawardena, to a former board member of the Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA), Thushan Gunewardena, demanding the immediate payment of a sum of Rs. 1 billion for defamatory statements made against him by the latter.



Indictments served on Hemasiri, Pujith: Trial to begin November 22

Indictments were yesterday served on Former IGP Pujith Jayasundara and former Defence Secretary Hemasiri Fernando in connection with the offences of murder and attempted murder, for their serious lapses and grave omissions to prevent Easter Sunday bomb attacks on April 21 in 2019, by the Colombo High Court Trial-at-Bar.
