Sri Lanka has ‘closed the door’ to justice: UN Rights Chief

UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet has vowed to support judicial proceedings in other countries against perpetrators of grave human rights violations in Sri Lanka, after the Government had effectively closed the door to achieving justice locally for alleged war time abuses.








Sri Lanka, Pakistan ink MoUs on Tourism, Investment, Technology and Education

Minister of Urban Development & Housing, Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa has advised the Urban Development Authority to take appropriate measures to develop Kolonnawa which has not been properly developed for many years.





Ranjan’s life in danger – Sajith

Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa yesterday (22), visited Angunakolapelessa Prison, to meet incarcerated SJB MP Ranjan Ramanayake. “Ramanayake’s life is in danger and the Government should take responsibility if anything happens to him,” Premadasa said, after the meeting.
