US travel ban on Lt. Gen. Shavendra Silva based on unverified allegations, unfair – Ambassador Perera

Reiterating that the controversial travel ban imposed on Army Commander Lt. Gen. Shavendra Silva hadn’t been based on independently verified information, but on the much-disputed OISL Report of 2015 and other organizations. Sri Lanka’s Ambassador in Washington Rodney Perera on Thursday, Feb 20, urged the United States to verify the authenticity of its sources of information.











Possible sets of drugs for coronavirus treatment

A group of scientists led by Dr. Sameera R. Samarakoon at the Institute of Biochemistry Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, University of Colombo has recently discovered a possible sets of United States’ Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved drugs which can be used as prophylactic treatment for COVID-19 by using computer-based drug designing methods.
