Special site for protest demos

As various protest marches continue to flow through Colombo disrupting traffic as they head toward the Presidential Secretariat,the authorities have set aside a patch of bare land opposite the Secretariat in Galle Face to accommodate such protestors.



Power cuts illegal

Co-government spokesperson and State Minister for Power and Renewable Energy Mahindananda Aluthgamage revealed that the Ceylon Electricity Board had incurred a combined loss of nearly 200 billion rupees owing to the Yahapalana government’s decision to abstain from paying off loans during the last three years.



Pujith Jayasundara granted bail

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Pujith Jayasundara, who was arrested and remanded in connection with the Easter Sunday attacks, was granted bail by the Colombo High Court.











Pujith & Hemasiri further remanded

Former Secretary to the Ministry of Defence Hemasiri Fernando and Inspector General of Police Pujith Jayasundara, who was sent on mandatory leave, have been further remanded until the 05th of February.
